Monday night's show at the Tractor was THE BEST concert I've seen in years. I swear that every song he played was my favorite song at one point in my life. I also wanted to thank him for opening with Angel's Heap(that song has a very personal significance to me). The whole night was topped off by Tim and I shaking hands. Thank you so much for the music Tim(and happy belated birthday).

Still on a post-concert high from Monday night in Seattle. The man just gets better and better. As long as he can still nail "I Hope I Never", there is no question of his voice not being up to scratch. (Incidentally, THANK YOU VERY MUCH to the people who talked during this song - you know who you are). Hopefully next tour he'll do some Canadian dates!!

I saw you in Seattle last nite (June 26) and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I don't get an opportunity to get out and see live music much anymore, but I'm sure glad I didn't miss this. It was absolutely wonderful!! The energy that you projected was felt in the audience. I think everyone was smiling. Keep it coming!

Hey there --went to the concert last night. It was GREAT! He looked really good and happy and I really liked the hair cut. I was amazed there weren't more people as Tim deserves so much respect and a big audience. I don't know if he reads these, but wanted to thank him for playing "Not Even Close" -- How many times I have sung myself the line, "Weave me a rope that will pull me through these impossible times" --to help me get through the rough spots -- Thanks Tim, and Happy Birthday! You're the greatest!

Tim's Show last night at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC - Great effort; 1 hour and 20 minutes. Another exemplary Finn outing. A combination of Tim Finn solo tunes; a couple of Crowded House gems and a sprinkle of Split Enz. Tim was accompanied by a slide guitarist (didn't catch his name) and Tim pulled off the simultaneous guitar/kick and snare drum playing without any audible hitches. Tim was in great mood and appeared to enjoy the evening. Managed to say hi briefly backstage and he was genrous with his time and kind to put up with my more than slightly drunken banter.

Hi Tim! Saw your concert on Wednesday night in Washington DC... thanks for noticing my friend and I had been in Baltimore the night before! Yet again, you gave us a tremendous show. My only complaint is about your opening act. I really enjoyed his music, but I had a bit of a problem with his attitude... I turned to my friend to tell her how wonderful he was, and he stopped talking and said, "Why don't you go to the bar and get out of my face?" I'm sorry, but if he doesn't want me to comment on his talent, fine. I guess he's lost at least 2 CD sales over that. Aside from any of that though, your part of the show was excellent! Had a great time! Thanks, Wendi

Just saw the Tim show last night- it was incredible. Just Tim and one other guy, so the songs really come through. Some daring arrangements of old Dizrhytmia (sp.?) tunes and lots of the new album. Highlights included a luscious Underwater Mountain with Tim on keyboards, Persuasion, and 6 Months in a Leaky Boat. The crowd wanted a second encore, but alas it was not to be. Watch for the fuzzed-out vocal through something that looks like an automotive part. He wasn't playing requests; someone asked for Charlie, but I would have liked to hear Parihaka. I'm so glad he came halfway round the world to play here. Next, we need an ALT reunion tour!!! --Jeff

Hi -- just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy the site. After all, if it wasn't for the website I would not have known it was Tim Finn Day here in Pittsburgh yesterday! I was at the show at Metropol last night, and of course it was absolutely wonderful. It started with the presentation of the "Tim Finn Day" proclamation -- Tim seemed touched and perhaps a bit embarrassed at the same time. A natural reaction, but he seemed to genuinely appreciate it, as he knew he was among "Frenz". He was very relaxed and chatty between numbers, and in very good voice. A good mix of old and new numbers as well. The set list: Crescendo/Poor Boy/Death Of A Popular Song/Currents/Medley: Bold As Brass & Chocolate Cake/Dirty Creature/Not Even Close/Good Together/Underwater Mountain/My Mistake/Road Trip/Persuasion/Weather With You. Encores were: I Hope I Never (absoutely stunning - literally brought a tear to my eye, it was performed so beautifully)/Angel's Heap/6 Months In A Leaky Boat. Unfortunately I had a prior commitment so I wasn't able to stick around after the show to let him know how much I appreciated it, but all in all it was a terrific evening. Sorry this is so long (feel free to edit if necessary), but if you're in Philadelphia or NYC or any of the other dates on the tour, GO without hesitation. You won't regret it.

I have been out of the loop on Enz, Crowded House, & Finn info for some time. Funny, I've been listening to a lot of old Enz stuff without knowing Tim recently released an new CD. I just went on my lunch hour to buy Afterglow which was "unofficially" released today (5/23)and saw his CD. I'm going back tomorrow to buy it. Keep those lyrics coming! I'm still listening (have been since 1980). Afterall, "I Hope I Never.." miss another release. I'd have to ask myself "What's the Matter With You..." If I did. Hope the tour goes well. See you in Chicago in June... Kathy H.

Hello Tim, I know this is a really long shot, but will you coming back to states soon after this tour. See, I am in Philadelphia and real big fan (like everyone else here). First saw you opening up for 10,000 Maniacs over 10 years ago. Have seen you and brother a few times since and I have actully met you before (of course I don't expect you to remember). Well, I have been waiting for you to tour here for awhile and now that you finally are, I am going to out of the country the week you come to Philadelphia and you are playing the Tin Angel (a near perfect venue to see you in). This happen last time Neil was in town, but was lucky to catch him in Myrtle Beach. Like I said this was a long shot, but do you plan to come back around to further promote this album? You could come back to Philadelphia and do a WXPN World Cafe appearence and maybe then also play another show in town? Anyway, thank you for all of the years of fine music. Big fan of Enz (have the box set) and your solo stuff. Thanks

Dear Tim, A refreshing new Album. The latest albums from you and your brother were a little dull (musically speaking).Say it is so, has some more power (do I hear U2 sounds?). Hope to see you in Groningen again, sometime (last time with Split Enz, on the Waiata Tour). greetings from Groningen, Gerard Nieborg (age 42!, yes I'm getting old too)

Oh, oh, oh & oh. Tim's coming to Melbourne! How on Earth can I get tickets? The race will be on. I hope I don't get standing room tickets because I have MS & the last time I was there with standing room my husband had to hold me up on one side & my walking stick on the other. It was worth it because I got to meet Tim afterwards(me being one of those old 20 year fans). All of the audience just loved getting either above or below me on the stairs too! I'll have to become religious all of a sudden & pray a lot.

Thanks Peter for the post about the Tim and Neil concert at Tabac. The show was awesome. Neil played a solo set first, playing several songs off his forthcoming new solo album and played a few TWT and Chrowded House numbers too. He played a beautiful version of Pineapple Head, after he had said he would take a couple of requests and I called it out strait away. After a little break, Neil returned to the stage, this time with Tim. What followed was a very enjoyable set. Dirty Creature, Sweet Dreams, Its Only Natural, How Will You Go,Weather With You, Suffer Never, Angels Heap, Paradise. When they lost their set list and started taking requests, I called out LESTER, which they both played a beautiful version of. They also played Currents and Good Together, off Tim's new SAY IT IS SO album, a new Split Enz tune, which Tim stated he and Neil wrote with Noel, Eddie and Nigel along with a bunch of other songs just before the new years gigs. It was also stated by Tim Finn in a recent interview, that just two weeks prior to the new years shows Split Enz had done some recording, which may or may not turn into a brand new Split Enz album. I reckon the fact that they played it live was a healthy sign. Anyway, back to the concert. They closed with a georgeous version of Four Seasons In One Day, after a song about Neil's other dog Tucker. You really had to be there. So thanks again Peter for the post and thanks Tim and Neil for yet another stunning concert and the autographs.

Dear Tim. I have been touched by your amazingly unique music for quite a while now. I just wanted to write and say how much I love the new album. My favourite tracks are UNDERWATER MOUNTAIN because it is just so damn melodic, yet still rocks out, DEATH OF A POPULAR SONG because you made a bold statement, wrapped in a typically enchanting melody and SHIVER, which showcases your amazing skills as a guitarist. I loved your STEEL CITY album too. That had some of your best work on it I reckon. Good luck with the new album and tour.

I've been enjoying Say It Is So for the past 2 months. I love the South Pacific vibe -- takes me back to the time I spent in NZ back in '93. I hope the US tour comes to Austin, TX . One of the reasons is that Jay Joyce has worked with a few artists who are based in Austin ( Patty Griffin, Abra Moore, Trish Murphy ). Austin proclaims itself as "the live music capital of the world" ; even Neil played here twice within 6 months back in '98 !

I saw you perform at The Gluepot in 1993, when you played most of your Before and After album. I'd bought this prior to the gig, and it was amazing to be able to sing along with you. Particularly Before and After, I've got firmly placed in my essential C.D. collection, as I almost know it off by heart. PLEASE do at least one gig in London, as particularly your music takes me back to very good times in Aotearoa. I'm looking forward to hearing the new album! From a dedicated fan.
